Soccer Game Preview: Lakewood vs. Ferndale

Lakewood is 0-3 against Ferndale since April of 2018 but things could change on Thursday. The Cougars will head out on the road to square off against the Golden Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Lakewood was handed a three-goal defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand Mt. Baker a 1-0 shutout. The win was some much needed relief for Lakewood as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Ferndale was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of Blaine.

Ferndale's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7-5. As for Lakewood, their victory bumped their record up to 5-9-1.
