Basketball Game Preview: Legend Titans vs. Moreno Valley Vikings

The Legend Titans and the Moreno Valley Vikings will face off at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Legend is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another highly-ranked state team: Osbourn Park, who was ranked fourth in their home state at the time (Legend was ranked fourth). Legend fell 58-45 to Osbourn Park on Friday. The Titans' loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Defeat or not, Legend got some senior leadership from Mason Borcherding and Grace Stanley. Borcherding dropped a double-double on 13 points and 17 rebounds, while Stanley posted 11 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Those 17 boards gave Borcherding a new career-high. Maley Wilhelm was another key player, putting up seven points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, after a string of six wins, Moreno Valley's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 53-52 to Ridgeline.

Legend's loss dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Moreno Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-5.
