Softball Game Preview: Twinsburg Tigers vs. Steele Comets

The Twinsburg Tigers will be taking part in a tournament against the Steele Comets at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Twinsburg is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Solon with a sharp 13-3 victory. The win continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Comets: they've now won three in a row.

Meanwhile, Steele got the win against Hudson on Tuesday by a conclusive 8-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Comets.

Steele got a massive performance out of Leah Sprague, who went 3-for-4 with three doubles, two RBI, and one run. That's the most hits Sprague has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Allie Jackson, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.

Steele pushed their record up to 19-8 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Twinsburg, their victory bumped their record up to 15-11.
