Baseball Game Preview: Liberty Bison vs. Poly Bears

The Liberty Bison will head out on the road to square off against the Poly Bears at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Liberty came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 17-3 to Arlington. The Bison's defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Alexander Arteaga made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Ian Slater, who went 1-for-4 with one home run.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Poly's offense. They fell just short of Valley View by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday.

Danny Bedford was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

Liberty's record is now 9-8. As for Poly, their record now sits at 11-9.

Liberty couldn't quite finish off Poly when the teams last played back in March and fell 11-9. Can the Bison avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
