Baseball Recap: Delta Takes a Loss

After flying high against South Summit on Wednesday, Delta came back down to earth. The Delta Rabbits fell just short of the Richfield Wildcats by a score of 9-7 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Rabbits have suffered since April 18, 2024.

Cy Droubay made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Kash Nielson was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Delta moved to 7-2 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 13.7 runs. As for Richfield, they moved to 2-6 with that win, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

While Delta had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
