Baseball Recap: Hazard Makes It Eight in a Row on the Road

Hazard came out on top against Wolfe County on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run sixth inning. The Bulldogs / Lady Bulldogs walked away with a 6-2 victory over the Wolves. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs / Lady Bulldogs.

Gaige Logan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Clint Davidson was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Izaiah Johnson, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Hazard's win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-2. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.9 runs over those games. As for Wolfe County, they moved to 16-8 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Coming up, Hazard will face off against Floyd Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs / Lady Bulldogs are facing the Jaguars at the right time seeing as the Jaguars are stuck on a three-game losing streak. Wolfe County has already played their next match (against George Rogers Clark), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
