On Friday, the High Point Christian Academy Cougars faced the Greensboro Day School Bengals in a battle between two of the state's top teams. High Point Christian Academy fell 61-53 to Greensboro Day School. It was the first time this season that High Point Christian Academy let down their fans at home.
Despite the defeat, High Point Christian Academy had strong showings from Kylie Torrence, who scored 19 points, and Angel Walker, who scored 14 points. That was a full 35.8% of High Point Christian Academy's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
High Point Christian Academy's loss ended a 20-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 20-4. As for Greensboro Day School, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 27-4.
