Softball Recap: Titusville Has No Trouble Against Cocoa

Titusville hadn't done well against Cocoa recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Terriers blew past the Tigers 18-12. This was a revenge game for the Terriers: when they faced off against the Tigers back in February, they had to take a 20-15 defeat.

Jah-Nya Gallishaw was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with five RBI, three runs, and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in February. Lorali Karaguovanis was another key player, going 4-for-5 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Titusville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 24 hits. They got seven more hits than Cocoa's also-impressive total of 17.

Titusville's record now sits at 3-13. As for Cocoa, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Titusville will square off against Satellite at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Terriers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Scorpions have averaged an impressive 8.3 runs per game this season. As for Cocoa, they will take on Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
