Soccer Recap: Cooper City Takes a Loss

Cooper City was the 2-1 winner over Coral Glades when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Cooper City Cowboys took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Coral Glades Jaguars on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Cowboys can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 380th, while the Jaguars are ranked 64th).

Cooper City's goal came courtesy of Juan Calderon, who's now up to four this season.

Cooper City's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7-2. As for Coral Glades, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-3.

Cooper City will take on Fort Lauderdale in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Coral Glades and Taravella will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Coral Glades' favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Taravella has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
