Volleyball Recap: Clearfield Falcons vs. Spanish Fork Dons
Clearfield and Spanish Fork squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Clearfield had to settle for second. They fell 2-0 to the Spanish Fork Dons. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Falcons of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2015.
The match came down to the wire multiple times:two sets needed extra rallies to declare a winner. The final score came out to 27-25, 28-26.
Despite the loss, Clearfield saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Erin Lowry had 12 digs. Lowry is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in the last three games she's played.
Spanish Fork found their leader in sophomore Sarah Harwood, who had 11 digs and three aces. That's the most aces Harwood has posted in her last seven contests.
Clearfield's defeat dropped their record down to 21-12. As for Spanish Fork, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 19-14.
