Volleyball Recap: The Academy Wildcats vs. Prairie View Thunderhawks
After flying high against Fort Lupton on Friday, The Academy came back down to earth. The Academy Wildcats took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Prairie View Thunderhawks on Saturday.
While The Academy ultimately came up short, they really made Prairie View work, particularly in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 26-24, 25-27, 25-21.
Despite the defeat, The Academy saw an underclassman step up: Megan Duchlinski had 30 digs. Those 30 digs set a new season-high mark for Duchlinski. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaelyn Farmer, who had ten digs and four aces.
The Academy's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Prairie View, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.
The Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Horizon at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. As for Prairie View, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Westminster at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
