Basketball Recap: Chenango Valley Comes Up Short

Chenango Valley and Johnson City squared off in some playoff action on Sunday, but Chenango Valley had to settle for second. They took a 50-35 bruising from the Johnson City Wildcats. The Warriors haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Johnson City can attribute much of their success to Annabel Burke, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 11 boards. That's the most points Burke has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Aliya Hankey, who shot 46% from the field on her way to 15 points and eight rebounds.

Chenango Valley now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Johnson City, they are on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-3 record this season.

As of now, neither Chenango Valley nor Johnson City have any future games scheduled.
