Baseball Recap: Portage Central Takes a Loss

Portage Central was the 4-2 winner over Portage Northern when they last played one another on Monday, but their luck changed this time around. The Mustangs fell 10-7 to the Huskies on Monday.

Brody Wallace was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season. Nolan Bloomquist was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Portage Central has been struggling recently as they've lost 15 of their last 18 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-19 record this season. As for Portage Northern, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-9 and their overall record up to 12-18-1.

Looking ahead, Portage Central will welcome Central at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Portage Northern, they are taking a road trip to challenge Norrix at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
