Volleyball Recap: Sage Creek Bobcats vs. Mission Hills Grizzlies

Sage Creek was the 3-0 winner over Mission Hills when they last played one another back in October of 2018, but their luck changed this time around. The Bobcats fell just short of the Grizzlies by a score of 3-2 on Friday. While the Bobcats didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Grizzlies 25-18 in the first set.

Sage Creek wouldn't go down easily and took Mission Hills into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking three-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 18-25, 25-18, 25-13, 14-25, 15-12.

Mission Hills found their leader in sophomore Jaelynn Le, who had 16 digs and three aces. Le is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Karlee Brandt, who had ten digs.

Sage Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 17-17. As for Mission Hills, their victory bumped their record up to 21-7.

Sage Creek wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against Fallbrook on the 14th. As for Mission Hills, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Poway at 6:00 p.m.
