Football Game Preview: Klein Oak Panthers vs. Tomball Cougars + How To Watch

The Klein Oak Panthers will challenge the Tomball Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

While Klein Oak's victory against Klein Collins wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Panthers slipped by the Tigers 36-35 on Friday. The win was all the more spectacular given the Panthers' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 146th, while the Tigers are ranked 43rd).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Tomball). They managed a 53-47 victory over Klein on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Bearkats: they've now won six in a row.

The match pitted two dominant backs against one another in Ian Thomas and Edward Kelly Jr. Thomas had a great game and rushed for 136 yards and three touchdowns. Meanwhile, Kelly Jr was balling out in the loss, rushing for 240 yards and three TDs while picking up 10.4 yards per carry, and also picking up 31 receiving yards and one score.

The victory got Klein Oak back to even at 3-3. As for Tomball, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.
