Basketball Recap: Camden Ford's Big Game Can't Quite Lead North Johnston over Goldsboro

North Johnston entered their contest against Goldsboro on Wednesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The North Johnston Panthers came up short against the Goldsboro Cougars, falling 52-32. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 62-31 last Friday.

North Johnston lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Camden Ford, who posted eight points and eight rebounds. She is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 50% in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Samantha Boswell, who scored four points.

Goldsboro's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Aziyah Boyer led the charge by putting up 14 points. Des'Myah Croom was another key player, earning 13 points.

North Johnston's loss dropped their record down to 18-2. As for Goldsboro, the victory was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 21-2.
