Basketball Recap: Providence Hall Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Providence Hall can now relate to. They were dealt a 64-34 defeat at the hands of the Ben Lomond Scots on Wednesday. The Patriots' loss continues a trend for the team, making it ten in a row.

Several Patriots players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mckai Turner, who went 6-for-15 to rack up 23 points and six rebounds. That was a full 67.6% of Providence Hall's points, marking the third time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. Dallas Loutensock also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Jaerdan Vanbeekum was his usual excellent self, going 8-for-14 en route to 23 points and six boards for Ben Lomond. The matchup was Vanbeekum's fourth in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Zeb Whetton, who had eight points along with ten rebounds and three blocks.

Providence Hall's defeat dropped their record down to 4-18. As for Ben Lomond, their record now sits at 6-18.

Providence Hall does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Ben Lomond, they are taking a road trip to face off against Canyon View at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The timing is sure in Canyon View's favor as the squad sits on six straight wins at home while Ben Lomond has been banged up by seven consecutive losses on the road.
