Softball Recap: Buckhorn Sets Scoring Season-High Against Mae Jemison

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Buckhorn). They never let the Mae Jemison Jaguars get on the board and left with a 15-0 win on Thursday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Bucks considering their one-run performance the match before.

Chelsea Hindman looked comfortable as she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in strikeouts.

At the plate, Andre-Ana Davis was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Katie Hastings, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Buckhorn was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .577. They are 2-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The victory got Buckhorn back to even at 3-3. As for Mae Jemison, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Buckhorn will head out to face off against Hazel Green at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mae Jemison has already played their next contest (against Whitesburg Christian Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
