Baseball Recap: Kiefer Wins Going Away Against Chandler

Chandler typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Kiefer proved too difficult a challenge. They blew past the Lions 13-4. The Trojans have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Lions, too.

Owen Murphy was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Trent Cantrell was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-5.

Murphy wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Kiefer kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. The Trojans are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Kiefer has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Chandler, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-4.

Kiefer wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 5-1 victory against Sequoyah on the 31st. Chandler has also already played their next contest (against Prague), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
