Baseball Recap: Lewisburg Falls Short of Tupelo in the Playoffs

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Lewisburg couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the Tupelo Golden Wave by a score of 8-7 on Tuesday. The Patriots were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Golden Wave earlier this season, when they won 13-3.

Lewisburg has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 22-9 record this season. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only 1.67 runs. As for Tupelo, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 17-14 record this season.
