Recap: Bronaugh Wildcats vs. Hume Hornets
If the Bronaugh Wildcats were feeling good off their 83-19 takedown of the Miami Eagles on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Bronaugh took a 47-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hume. Bronaugh lost against Hume in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 50-37 score last time.
Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Strauss Banes, who scored 15 points along with 5 rebounds and 4 steals. Banes scored a full 34.9% of Bronaugh's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Luke Bowling was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Bronaugh's defeat dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Hume, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Bronaugh will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Montrose at 1:30 p.m. on December 2nd. Hume will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Drexel at 7:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024.
