Football Recap: Laney Comes Up Short

Laney played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Garner Trojans and fell 42-7. The Buccaneers were already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.

Ryan Gallagher threw for 94 yards and one touchdown. Niko Warren was his top target, picking up 72 receiving yards and one score. On the ground, Ellis Williams rushed for 88 yards on only 12 carries.

Laney's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Garner, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Looking ahead, Laney will venture away from home to square off against J.H. Rose at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Garner, they will host Middle Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
