Softball Recap: Breaux Bridge's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Breaux Bridge came tearing into Tuesday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Abbeville Wildcats 15-2. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won seven matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.

Zoey Simoneaux made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off eight hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Gracie Hebert was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last ten contests. Calie Chiasson was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2.

Breaux Bridge always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .758. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .600 or higher in four consecutive games.

Breaux Bridge's victory bumped their record up to 9-14. As for Abbeville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

Breaux Bridge is taking a road trip to square off against Mamou at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Abbeville, they will welcome Gueydan at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
