Baseball Recap: Freeport Falcons vs. Morse Shipbuilders

Freeport had lost three straight at home, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 0-4 to make it four. They fell just short of the Morse Shipbuilders by a score of 4-3. The Falcons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Shipbuilders apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Ben Bolduc was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

As for Morse, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since May 22, 2024.

On Morse's side, Oscar Nelson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits and racked up eight Ks. Nelson has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
