League recap: Cedar Park extends winning streak with victory over Vandegrift

4A Region IV District 25 recap Oct. 30, 2012

Cedar Park extended the longest winning streak in 4A Region IV District 25 this week by beating Vandegrift, 20-12. The victory was the sixth in a row for the Timberwolves.

Leander took down Dripping Springs 37-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Caleb Woodward threw for 11 yards, ran for 144 yards and caught one passes for 66 yards in the win.

Marble Falls's dynamic duo of Mike Richardson and Garrett Gray proved tough for Vista Ridge to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Richardson threw for 317 yards and two touchdowns and Gray had 161 yards receiving. Carson Bowen helped Marble Falls' passing attack out by catching eight balls for 86 yards.

The Mustangs' Richardson and Gray have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Richardson has thrown for 2324 yards this season, while Gray has 67 catches for 996 yards. Woodward from the Lions leads the league in rushing with 1090 yards.

Marble Falls' Gray is only four receiving yards away from breaking 1,000 receiving yards this season as he enters this week's game against the the Tigers.

Rouse's Billy McCrary is a mere 69 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season. McCrary has rushed for 931 yards on 168 carries so far this year.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Cedar Park takes on the Rangers. Chris Ross' team is currently in third, while Vista Ridge is in second.

Leander led 4A Region IV District 25 in scoring this week after putting up 37 points on Dripping Springs. Woodward in the win.
