Football Recap: Judge Memorial Catholic Comes Up Short

Judge Memorial Catholic had lost five straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped down to 1-8 to make it six. They had to suffer through a 62-0 loss at the hands of the South Summit Wildcats. The Bulldogs lost against the Wildcats in their previous head to head back in October of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 39-0 score last time.

As for South Summit, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-4. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by 29 points or more this season.

Leading South Summit to victory were Ian Mair and Bryce Pulver. Mair threw for 238 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 passes, while Pulver rushed for 89 yards and a pair of scores on only 11 carries. Mair's passing game has become a key predictor of the Wildcats' success: the team is 4-1 when his passer rating is 110 or higher, but only 1-3 otherwise. Blake Osguthorpe was in the mix as well, providing South Summit with two TDs.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Judge Memorial Catholic is set to challenge their familiar foe American Leadership Academy at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th. Meanwhile, South Summit will take on rival Providence Hall at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. That matchup will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Mair and Andrew Taylor.
