Basketball Recap: West Union Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Annabelle Mcintosh and Madison Stout

The West Union Dragons lost 69-46 to the Mason County Royals on Monday. While losing is never fun, the Dragons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 496th in Ohio, while the Royals are ranked 64th in Kentucky).

West Union's loss came despite strong showings from Madison Stout and Annabelle Mcintosh. Stout posted 13 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals, while Mcintosh put up 12 points. Mcintosh has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last ten times she's played. Nina McCann also deserves some recognition as she grabbed her first steal of the season.

West Union's defeat dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Mason County, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Union has already played their next game (against Western), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Mason County will square off against Woodford County at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
