Cascade is headed into Thursday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game dating back to last season on Friday. They were outmatched by Richland at home and fell 54-14.
Meanwhile, Huntland can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 22-8 win over Grundy County.
Huntland can attribute much of their success to Grant Jernigan, who rushed for 43 yards and a touchdown, and BJ Summers, who rushed for 95 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries. Summers got the majority of those yards when he took off on a run and that went for an incredible80 yards.
Huntland's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB six times. Kyrin Baxter was especially locked on to Grundy County's QB and sacked him three times. Baxter also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up three sacks, forcing a fumble, and making nine total tackles.

Cascade was able to grind out a solid win over Huntland in their previous matchup back in August of 2023, winning 21-14. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Huntland's Jarren Kinslow, who rushed for 149 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.8 yards per carry.
