It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Arvada West can now relate to. The contest between the Wildcats and the Mountain Vista Golden Eagles didn't end well, with the Wildcats falling 36-21.

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Logan Duhachek, who threw for 320 yards and three TDs. Arvada West's leading receiver Keegen Balistreri was Duhachek's top target yet again, picking up 119 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Even if they lost, Arvada West's defensive line still kept up the pressure with five sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Kevin Sanchez and Tyriek Cullum, who racked up four sacks between them.

Hudson Modrzewski was a one-man wrecking crew For Mountain Vista. as he rushed for 210 yards and five scores while picking up 8.4 yards per carry, and also picked up 31 receiving yards. Modrzewski showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 57 yards. Marquise Reese was another key player, throwing for 236 yards on 15 of 23 attempts.

Arvada West's defeat dropped their record down to 10-2. As for Mountain Vista, they pushed their record up to 12-0 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home.

Arvada West does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mountain Vista, they will head out on the road to take on Ralston Valley at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Golden Eagles will need to watch out since the Mustangs have now posted at least 31 points in their last eight matchups.
