Baseball Recap: Chatham Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Chatham came tearing into Thursday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Albany Falcons by a score of 7-2.

Kiah Pinto made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over four innings pitched. Pinto was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was his first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Owen Wilber, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Steltz, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Chatham pushed their record up to 8-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Albany, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.

Chatham will take on Taconic Hills at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Titans will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last. As for Albany, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, an 8-3 defeat against Coxsackie-Athens on the 25th.
