Basketball Recap: Tylertown Comes Up Short

Tylertown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 45-39 heartbreaker at the hands of the Springfield Bulldogs.

Springfield's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Chase Burches, who shot 57% from the field to rack up 18 points and four steals. That's the most steals Burches has posted since back in January. Dequincy Davis was another key player, putting up nine points and six steals.

Tylertown's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Springfield, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Coming up, Tylertown will face off against Provine at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Chiefs will be up against the Rams' rather soft defense (which has allowed 66.57 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Springfield, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, an 82-62 loss against St. Amant on the 25th.
