Baseball Recap: Palmyra Comes Up Short

The Palmyra Panthers came up short against the Gateway Regional Gators on Thursday, falling 14-3. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Justin Dellisanti was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Palmyra's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-2 (and 0-14 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Nate Bachich, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Palmyra's loss dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Gateway Regional, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-11 record this season.

Palmyra will welcome Riverside at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Gateway Regional, they are taking a road trip to take on Pennsauken at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. The Indians' pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so the Gators' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
