The Rio Grande Ravens will take on the Los Lunas Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Rio Grande barely beat Albuquerque the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Ravens blew past the Bulldogs 15-3 on Tuesday. Winning may never get old, but the Ravens sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Sebastian Chavez made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Chavez was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs. He has become a key player for Rio Grande: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 7-9 otherwise.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Andrew Salas, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and one triple. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Lorenzo Martinez was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Rio Grande always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Albuquerque only posted an OBP of .348.
Meanwhile, Los Lunas never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They put the hurt on West Mesa with a sharp 10-0 victory. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Matthew Castillo was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. The team also got some help courtesy of Jasiah Byers, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Rio Grande's victory bumped their record up to 13-9. As for Los Lunas, their win bumped their record up to 14-8.
Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Rio Grande hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .345. However, it's not like Los Lunas struggles in that department as they've averaged .319. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
