Baseball Recap: Roselle Park Panthers vs. Dayton Bulldogs

Roselle Park extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to four on Friday, dropping their season record down to 0-3 in the process. They lost 14-1 to the Dayton Bulldogs. If the Panthers were looking for revenge after losing 12-1 to the Bulldogs when the teams met back in May of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Dayton, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-7. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Dayton's part, Frank Dasti was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts Dasti has posted since back in June of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three runs.

In other batting news, Michael Ramirez was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Patrick Ferguson, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

Coincidentally, Roselle Park and Dayton will both be playing Plainfield the next time they take the field. The Bulldogs will head out to face the Cardinals at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Panthers will host them at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
