Basketball Recap: Rocky River Victorious

On Saturday, the Rocky River Ravens narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Grimsley Whirlies 58-56.

Jayden Ross was his usual excellent self, going 8 for 17 on his way to 25 points and three steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Rocky River's points. Ronnie Little was another key player, putting up 14 points.

When it comes to explaining why Grimsley lost, don't look at Sherrod White. Despite the final result, he posted 13 points and six boards. Another player making a difference was Henry Trent, who earned 11 points.

Rocky River's victory bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Grimsley, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-6.

Rocky River wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 102-65 loss against Charlotte Catholic on the 31st. As for Grimsley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 56-49 win against Northwest Guilford on the 28th.
