Recap: Legacy Christian Academy Lions vs. Alpaugh Buffalos
This season hasn't been kind to the Legacy Christian Academy Lions, who are still winless after their seventh match. They fell just short of Alpaugh by a score of 44-41. Legacy Christian Academy has struggled against the Buffalos recently, as their matchup on Thursday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Alpaugh's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jesse Alcazar, who scored 12 points along with two steals. Jesus Nunez was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with eight rebounds and seven assists.
Legacy Christian Academy dropped their record down to 0-7 with that defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 22.4 points per game. As for Alpaugh, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season.
Coincidentally, Legacy Christian Academy and the Buffalos will both be playing the Mustangs the next time they take the court. Alpaugh will host Laton at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, while Legacy Christian Academy will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on February 6th.
