Baseball Game Preview: Duncan Wildkats vs. Ray Bearcats

Duncan hasn't had much luck against Ray recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Wildkats will take on the Bearcats at 3:45 p.m. Duncan has given up an average of 7.1 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Friday, Duncan didn't have quite enough to beat Baboquivari and fell 13-12.

Dayton Penry was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Gus Pope was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Ray's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They lost 7-1 to San Manuel.

Ray saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Asher Warren, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Ray's loss dropped their record down to 10-13-1. As for Duncan, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-6.

Duncan couldn't quite finish off Ray when the teams last played back in April of 2024 and fell 9-7. Can the Wildkats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
