McDowell has gone a perfect 10-0 against Erwin recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. McDowell will welcome Erwin at 6:15 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

McDowell took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Asheville a 17-0 shutout. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Titans considering their two-run performance the contest before.

Meanwhile, Erwin came tearing into Tuesday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Rams 13-3. 13 seems to be a good number for the Warriors as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Kylie Gingras was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Gingras was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-4. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season.

In other batting news, Cambrie Stevens was a standout: she scored four runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Jessica Varillas, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

McDowell is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. Erwin pushed their record up to 4-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Everything went McDowell's way against Erwin in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as McDowell made off with a 10-0 win. Will McDowell repeat their success, or does Erwin has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
