Basketball Recap: Smyrna Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Smyrna was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 53-47 heartbreaker at the hands of the Ravenwood Raptors. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bulldogs of the 65-58 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2015.

When it comes to explaining why Smyrna lost, don't look at Elliyon Kinzer. Despite the final result, he shot 53% from the field en route to 27 points and three steals. Kinzer's big performance that evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Matthews, who posted seven points and six rebounds.

Smyrna's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Ravenwood, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Smyrna will take on LEAD Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ravenwood, they will square off against Riverdale at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
