Volleyball Recap: Acalanes Comes Up Short

Acalanes lost to Heritage back in March of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Dons fell just short of the Patriots by a score of 3-2.

Acalanes took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 26-24, 19-25, 19-25, 25-18, 15-12.

Heritage had a senior duo take command as Nathan Panggat had seven digs and four aces and Cole Fujinaga had seven digs and two aces. Those four aces set a new season-high mark for Panggat. Joseph Schnaider also deserves some recognition as he had his first block of the season.

Acalanes' loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Heritage, their record is now 5-3.

Acalanes has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 victory against De La Salle on the 14th. As for Heritage, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 win against River Valley on the 14th.
