Softball Recap: Wonewoc-Center Takes a Loss

Wonewoc-Center was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 8-4 to the Hillsboro Tigers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wolves of the 5-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Callissa Keller was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Heidi Baker also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Wonewoc-Center's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Hillsboro, they pushed their record up to 6-2 with the win, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Wonewoc-Center is set to square off against their familiar foe Bangor at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Hillsboro will take on rival Necedah at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
