Baseball Game Preview: Staunton Storm vs. Central Woodstock Falcons

The Staunton Storm will square off against the Central Woodstock Falcons at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.

Alleghany hit Staunton with a five-run third inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Storm fell 8-4 to the Cougars.

They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against Rappahannock County. Isaac Barb spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits. He is becoming a predictor of Central Woodstock's success: when he allows at most two earned runs the team is 8-2 (and 3-5 when he doesn't).
