Baseball Recap: Fairfield Central Wins Going Away Against Columbia

While Fairfield Central put up some runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Columbia. Fairfield Central was the clear victor by a 10-0 margin over Columbia. That looming 10-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Griffins yet this season.

Graeme Douglas was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI. He also scored two runs, which is notable because Fairfield Central is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-7 otherwise. Treyvion Wilcox was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

Douglas wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Fairfield Central lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Fairfield Central moved to 4-7 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Columbia, their loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-9.

Coincidentally, Fairfield Central and Columbia will both be playing Dreher the next time they take the field. Columbia will head out to face Dreher at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while Fairfield Central will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on April 2.
