Basketball Recap: Five Straight Home Victories for Freedom

Freedom extended their home winning streak to five games thanks to a huge performance from Riccardo Palombarini. The Freedom Patriots took their match on Friday with ease, bagging an 83-46 win over the Circle Christian Centurions thanks in part to Palombarini, who went 9 for 11 on his way to 24 points and seven boards. The contest was his sixth in a row with at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Shaun Fonoti, who went 8 of 11 en route to 16 points and five rebounds. Those 16 points gave him a new career-high.

Circle Christian lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Noah Whisler, who posted seven points and seven steals. Whisler is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. Lucas Valdes was another key player, going 6 for 11 on his way to 14 points and five boards.

Freedom has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 11-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.8 points per game. As for Circle Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-13.

Freedom wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 75-39 loss against Lake Mary on the 27th. As for Circle Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 61-47 defeat against International Community on the 25th.
