Soccer Game Preview: Tonganoxie vs. Heritage Christian Academy

Tonganoxie is 0-8 against Heritage Christian Academy since April of 2018 but things could change on Tuesday. The Chieftains will venture away from home to challenge the Chargers at 4:30 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Tonganoxie took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand Paola an 8-0 shutout. The high-scoring effort was just what Tonganoxie needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Heritage Christian Academy). They put the hurt on Bishop Ward with a sharp 9-1 win on Monday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Heritage Christian Academy pushed their record up to 5-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 19 goals over those three games. As for Tonganoxie, the win got them back to even at 4-4-2.

Tonganoxie came up short against Heritage Christian Academy when the teams last played back in April of 2024, falling 4-2. Can the Chieftains avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
