Volleyball Recap: Joss Bence Key Part of Team Effort in Wildcats Win + How To Watch

Homer-Center took a three-set loss the last time they faced off against Bishop Guilfoyle, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Wildcats sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Marauders on Monday. For the Wildcats, this counts as revenge for the 3-0 victory the Marauders walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2021.

Homer-Center wouldn't go down easily and took Bishop Guilfoyle into a fifth set where they got it done with a four-point win. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-22, 18-25, 22-25, 15-11.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Homer-Center to victory, but perhaps none more so than Joss Bence, who had 18 digs. That's the most digs Bence has posted since back in August. Another player making a difference was Ashlyn Yount, who had 35 assists and five digs.

The win got Homer-Center back to even at 5-5. As for Bishop Guilfoyle, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Homer-Center will host Marion Center at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bishop Guilfoyle, they will welcome Bellwood-Antis at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
