Recap: Syracuse Titans vs. Lone Peak Knights
The Syracuse Titans suffered their biggest defeat since December 8, 2023 on Tuesday. They were the victim of a tough 73-49 loss at the hands of Lone Peak. It was the first time this season that Syracuse let down their fans at home.
Despite the loss, Syracuse still got an impressive performance from Terik Hamblin, who scored 21 points. Hamblin hasn't dropped below 15points for seven straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Joshua Godfrey, who scored six points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
It was another big night for Chamberlain Burgess, who shot 4-for-5 from downtown and dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds for Lone Peak. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Burgess has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Thomsen Kramer, who scored 15 points along with six assists.
Syracuse's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-6. As for Lone Peak, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.
Syracuse will look to defend their home court on Friday against Layton at 7:00 p.m. Layton knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 13 games -- so hopefully Syracuse likes a good challenge. As for Lone Peak, they will head out on the road to take on Pleasant Grove at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Pleasant Grove's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
