Softball Recap: Eastern Hancock Wins Going Away Against Christel House

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Eastern Hancock walked away with it. They put the hurt on the Christel House Eagles with a sharp 13-0 win on Monday. Considering the Royals have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Macy Martin and Nieko Engleking made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Martin pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Engleking tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April. At the plate, Martin went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Engleking went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that Engleking has hit this season.

In other batting news, Lilli Ringer was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Addisyn Trackwell, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Eastern Hancock always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .655. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Christel House only posted an OBP of .222.

Eastern Hancock now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Christel House, their loss dropped their record down to 13-5.

Looking ahead, Eastern Hancock will take on Irvington Preparatory Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Eastern Hancock is facing Irvington Preparatory Academy at the right time seeing as Irvington Preparatory Academy is stuck on a five-game losing streak. Christel House does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
