East Wake gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They blew past the Riverside-Durham Pirates 42-6. The Warriors not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since September 20, 2024 (when they won 48-6).

East Wake had a senior duo take command as Maurice Maloy threw for 222 yards and a pair of touchdowns and Khalee Batts rushed for 83 yards and two scores.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Wake will challenge Rocky Mount at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Riverside-Durham, they will take on Sanderson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
