Softball Recap: Stratford Comes Up Short

Newtown hit Stratford with a eight-run third inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Red Devils lost 13-1 to the Nighthawks. The Red Devils haven't had much luck with the Nighthawks recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Stratford saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Shyan Rolle, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.

Stratford's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Newtown, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4-1 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Stratford will welcome Bethel at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Newtown, they will face off against Bunnell at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
